Interdisciplinary Conference : Disability and Development II: Making Ghana an enabling environment
Date: 10th March 2016
Persons living with any kind of disability, be it learning, physical or other neurodevelopment disability are faced with multiple challenges in every sphere of their lives. They face discrimination, and are deprived of the resources that are readily available to those without disability; they must function as best as they can in a society that has little place for them.
The Lancaster University Ghana, as part of its community engagement is providing this multidisciplinary platform so that as a society, we can explore the ways in which the Ghanaian society creates a disabling environment for its members with disability, how this negative environment constrains the development of Ghana and the way forward towards making Ghana a nurturing space for persons living with disability.
